There are two things to read before ordering: the law on recording other people in Oman, and what the supplier's specification does not tell us. Both are below.

Recording other people in Oman is a legal matter

Under Article 16 of Oman's Cyber Law, publishing pictures or footage of a person's private life without their consent carries up to three years' imprisonment and a fine of up to RO 5,000. This is enforced - Barka Primary Court sentenced a man to a year in prison and a RO 1,000 fine for photographing a woman without her knowledge.

Marketing for wearable cameras often uses the word discreetly. We are not going to sell them on that basis. If you buy a pair, tell people when you are recording, do not record anyone who has not agreed to it, and never record inside someone's home, a majlis, a women's gathering, a hospital, a school or a government building.

Worn openly and used with consent, camera glasses are a useful tool - for hands-free footage of your own work, a ride, a repair, a training session. Used the way the advertising suggests, they are a criminal risk to the person wearing them.

What the specification does not say

The record for the product we stock lists 64MB of system memory and no storage capacity at all. Sixty-four megabytes is working memory, not a place to keep video - 2K footage consumes roughly that much every few seconds.

So the obvious question is how much video the glasses actually hold, and the documentation supplied to us does not answer it. Nor does it state battery life in minutes of recording, the frame rate of the 2K video, whether there is a microSD slot, or how footage gets off the glasses and onto a phone.
