Which iPad is right for you
The standard iPad (A16) is the one most people should buy. It runs everything in the App Store, drives a Pencil, and handles video, browsing and school work without complaint. Buying up from it should be a decision with a reason behind it.
iPad mini (A17 Pro) exists for one reason: size. It is the iPad you read in bed with, take on a flight, or use one-handed. It costs more than the standard iPad while being smaller, which surprises people - you are paying for the density, not the performance.
iPad Air M4 is the middle: a laptop-class chip in a thin body, the right choice if you edit photos, keep a lot of apps open, or want the iPad to be a real second machine.
iPad Pro M5 is for professional work with a specific demand - video editing, music production, high-end illustration - or for someone who wants the best display Apple puts in a tablet. For everything else it is more iPad than the task needs.
