What you are buying at this price

A Blackview kids' tablet is a budget Android tablet inside a thick protective case with a child profile and content controls on top. That combination is exactly what a young child needs and it costs a fraction of a mainstream tablet.

Be clear about the performance. These are slow compared with a OMR 100 tablet, because the money went into the case and the software rather than the chip. For video, drawing apps and simple games that is fine.

RAM is the specification that decides how long the tablet stays usable. 2GB is the floor and it will frustrate an older child within a year. If the child is old enough to want games, pay for more.

Setting it up properly

The parental controls are only as good as the twenty minutes you spend configuring them. Set the content filters, the screen-time limits and the app permissions before you hand the tablet over - retrofitting them later is a much harder conversation.

Check what Blackview's child profile actually restricts on the specific model rather than assuming. Where the manufacturer's documentation is thin, our product page says so rather than filling the gap.

Durability

The bundled case is the main feature. It absorbs the drops that would end a bare tablet, and the ones here include a stand or a handle.

Screens still break. A drop onto a corner on tile will damage a screen through any case, and that is not a manufacturing defect, so it is not covered by warranty anywhere.
