Choosing a MacBook configuration

Memory and storage are chosen at purchase and cannot be changed afterwards on any current MacBook - they are part of the machine. That makes them the two specifications to be pessimistic about.

For web, email, documents and video calls the base memory configuration is adequate. For photo editing, many browser tabs alongside design software, or anything involving video, more memory is the upgrade that matters and it cannot be added later.

Storage is the same story with a simpler fix: an external SSD is cheap and works well, so under-buying storage is more recoverable than under-buying memory.

Regional variants and keyboard layout

MacBooks are sold with different keyboard layouts by region, and an Arabic-English layout is a different keyboard from a US English one. The layout is physically printed on the keys and cannot be changed.

Ask us which layout the unit on the shelf has before you order. This is not a detail to discover after delivery.

Warranty

MacBooks fall under the manufacturer's warranty policy rather than a fixed Playphone term, which for Apple is a one-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects.

Keep your invoice and make sure the serial matches our record. We open the claim with the authorised supplier on your behalf. Accidental damage and liquid damage are not covered by any of it.
