Where to start

Current iPhones are at iPhone and the previous generations - iPhone 16, 15, 14 and 13, sealed and new rather than refurbished - at iPhone 16, 15, 14 and 13. The older generations are usually the better value unless the newest camera is the reason you are buying.

Why the Apple ecosystem argument holds in Oman specifically

Two verifiable reasons, beyond the general one about devices working together.

Apple Pay works in Oman with Ahli Bank, American Express, Bank Dhofar, Bank Muscat, Bank Nizwa, Meethaq, National Bank of Oman, Oman Arab Bank, OMpay and Sohar International. That is a wide list. By comparison, Google Wallet tap-to-pay in Oman is currently limited to Ahlibank, Sohar International and Sohar Islamic. If paying by phone at a card terminal matters to you and you do not bank with those three, iPhone is currently the platform that supports it here.

And Apple lists Oman among the regions where the Apple Watch ECG app, irregular rhythm notifications and hypertension notifications are available on supported models - which is not true of every country.

Those are specific, checkable advantages rather than a general claim that one platform is better than another.

Buying Apple without getting caught out

Counterfeit Apple products, particularly AirPods and charging accessories, are common across this region. A fake charger is a safety issue rather than only a performance one: isolation between mains voltage and the device is exactly what cheap copies leave out.

Three checks that work with any seller. The box should be sealed. The serial or IMEI on the box should match the device and the invoice - verify it before you accept delivery. And the price should be explainable: a large discount on a current model usually means refurbished, grey-market or counterfeit.

Warranty on Apple products at Playphone

Playphone's warranty policy splits by product type rather than by brand. New phones and accessories - chargers, cables, earphones - get a fixed twelve months from the invoice date against manufacturing defects. Smartwatches, tablets and other gadgets are covered under the manufacturer's policy instead. Each product page states which applies.

So an iPhone and an Apple charging cable get Playphone's fixed twelve months; an iPad, an Apple Watch and a MacBook are covered under Apple's own terms, which is a one-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects.
