About Playphone
Playphone is an Omani mobile phone retailer and wholesale distributor founded in 2008. It supplies more than 300 outlets across the Sultanate, is an Apple Authorised Reseller, and operates branches in Ruwi (headquarters, Muscat), Salalah and Mabela. It sells direct to customers online and in store, with free nationwide delivery, and has been recognised with manufacturer awards every year from 2016 to 2025.
Playphone has been in Oman's mobile business since 2008. It started as a wholesale dealer and still is one — more than 300 outlets across the Sultanate are supplied from here — and it now sells direct to customers online and through its own stores.
That combination is the reason to buy from us rather than the reason to trust the marketing: the stock comes from the brands and their authorised suppliers, in the volumes a distributor buys, which is what the retail price reflects.
What Playphone does
Two businesses under one roof. The wholesale side distributes phones, tablets and accessories to retailers, online sellers and corporate clients across Oman — more than 300 outlets across Oman. The retail side sells the same stock direct to customers, online and in the stores.
The full service list is wholesale and retail distribution, bulk and custom orders, drop shipping, trade-in and exchange, logistics and delivery, financing through Bank Muscat and NBO, and repair and maintenance for phones, tablets and accessories.
Playphone is an Apple Authorised Reseller, which is what allows us to supply genuine Apple products and accessories rather than sourcing them second-hand through the region.
Where we reach
The wholesale network covers Ruwi, Ghubrah, Ghala, Al Khoud, Mabela and Seeb in Muscat, and Barka, Musannah, Tharmad, Suwaiq, Al Khadra, Bidiya, Hijari, Saham and Sohar in the north.
Retail delivery is nationwide and free. Playphone runs its own delivery fleet and works with the couriers Dalili and Asyad — the own fleet gives us control over timelines and handling on most journeys, and the courier partnerships extend the reach beyond it.

How we buy and what that means for you
Stock is sourced directly from the brands or their authorised suppliers. In a market where grey imports and refurbished units are routinely sold as new, that is the difference between a warranty claim that gets handled and one that does not.
Every product is 100% original and comes with a proper invoice and tax documentation. The serial or IMEI is recorded, so you can check it against the sealed box before you accept delivery. Playphone does not stock refurbished, pre-owned or grey-market units.
If a price we quote looks higher than one you have seen elsewhere, ask us why. Usually the answer is in which of those two things you are being offered.
Warranty, returns and repairs
New phones and accessories carry a fixed twelve months from the invoice date against manufacturing defects. Smartwatches, tablets and other gadgets are covered under the manufacturer's policy. The warranty policy sets out the detail and every product page states which applies to it.
Playphone repairs and maintains phones, tablets and accessories, so a fault is handled by people at a counter you can walk up to.
Oman's Consumer Protection Law (Royal Decree 66/2014) makes warranty obligations mandatory and not waivable by agreement: a supplier must repair, replace or refund a defective good at no cost to you. Under the executive regulation, if a repair runs beyond 15 days the agent has to supply a comparable product free of charge in the meantime. Those are your rights under Omani law regardless of what any seller's own policy says.
